N12TR Paint Project

February 17th, 2025

I love my Tiger, but its original paint scheme, while nice, had started to fade. I initially tried a paint restoration rather than a full repaint, but it quickly lost its luster. In 2022, I upgraded the interior with new leather, and last summer, I finally took the plunge and sent it to the paint shop. It should be done soon—though it’s taken months instead of the weeks I had hoped!

The first photo in this blog post is the nose art, which will be the final touch. I liked the original paint scheme, but I wanted something with more flair, so I designed a new scheme instead. The repainting process—mostly in order—includes stripping and applying paint from the lightest to the darkest layers. The bottom will be metallic plum, the top Cadillac white, and the accent color metallic copper. The interior is a tan and cherry leather with dark brown carpet.

Princess Cruise…

April 27th, 2014

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here.  We took advantage of an opportunity to sail on the Ruby Princess in April 2014.  Here’s a few stills from that voyage; Fort Lauderdale, Grand Turk, Princess Cays, and return to Ft Lauderdale.  A perfect escape from the New England weather!Ruby Princess Cruise

Newport to Portsmouth

September 4th, 2013

Last weekend, my next door neighbor, Rob and another friend, Vince and I sailed from Newport, RI to Portsmouth, NH on Vince’s boat, Thora, a beautiful 36′ yawl. Thanks for the great trip, Vince. Lots of fun, great memories and spectacular sights!

Dear Santa…

Ifs, ands, but no butts!

October 30th, 2012

Yesterday, Mac announced to Debbie and me that, “One of [his] site words is ‘but’, but NOT the one that poop comes out of”!

It occurs to us that first grade teachers have to explain that difference, don’t they?!

Becca’s Smile Permanently Installed!

Becca with Kelly

Becca's Smile Permanently Installed

I was recently flying with a lady who is a competitive sky-diver. She mentioned that during our layover in my home city, she would be going to an indoor ‘vertical’ wind tunnel. I mentioned that Becca LOVES the idea of indoor sky-diving and wanted to try. Kelly Woods kindly invited Becca to share some of her tunnel time.

I fear we’ve opened a can of worms that will be uncloseable in a few years.

Becca’s been a busy little writer. Perhaps she can be a professional Negotiator!

Becca made the job chart today. Looks like she fortunately forgot how to spell D A D!

Good thing Dad wasn't home today! Becca designed a family job chart. Note Mom has two pins. That should be a compliment! Becca knows she can handle it!

Her little brother better get himself a lawyer. She’s 8 & He’s 5… with a LONG road ahead of him in this house, apparently!

Kauai ATV Adventure

April 21st, 2011

While in Kauai in April of 2011, Pete, George, & Becca went on an ATV adventure – from the old sugar mill in Koloa, through the Wilcox tunnel to the eastern side of the ridge where the cane was grown – up to mountain waterfalls and lots of back-country 4-wheelin’!
